SC Palmetto Trail trip in the near future

I have recently been doing some winter hiking on the Palmetto trail here in South Carolina. I am curious to see if anyone has done any hiking/camping along this trail at any point. I have completed all of the trail running through the Poinsett State Park and Manchester State Forest, but haven't camped any of it or ventured any further. Awesome trail and really offers some great changes in land, from low lands to mountains at the northern point. I am looking to get in a couple over night trips and I am open to any ideas or company if anyone is interested.

Thanks for that link I couldn't get it to open here at work but I will check it out when I get home.

I just did a bit more of this trail in the Sumter National Forest. I beleive it is the Enoree section of the trail. I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained and nice that area was. Really nice bridges and marked really well (actually so well marked it was kind of confusing when I wouldn't see a blaze where I thought I should). I am really starting to like this trail more and more. I am excited to have found out that the park service for Sumter National forest will issue a permit for free (from what I was told) to camp anywhere along this trail. Not just designated primitave sites. Now I just need to plan a weekend and make it happen.

MadFire I have looked through and read about a few for the Appalachian Trail and a lot of the info is where to get water, problem areas for bears or wild animals, also good places to eat or restock on food. Basically something you would carry with you if you were to hike from start to finish on a long distance trail. This keeps you from needing to rely on technology while out in the sticks.
