What size shock cord do you use typically?
Here's a pic for y'all!!
I like/use this set up as well.
2 recent modifications I did after several cold weather set ups:
1) I shortened my shock cord loops to about 3-4 inches - allows me to get closer to the ground when needed-it stretches out to ~6". I have a superfly and it often gets hung close to the gound but still provides plenty of interior room.
2) I Larksheaded a small (3") loop onto the shockcord loop. Helpful for seting up in a hurry when a low pitch is needed. I can just stake out through this loop and I'm low and tight, no adjustments required and no real weight penalty.
Otherwise I really like the ease, adjustability and weight of the linelocks on shockcord (thanks Shane!).
i do something similar. i larks head a prussic that is on the guy line too the tarp pull out. both ends of the guy line have fixed loops one end has tarp tensioners the other is just a fixed loop. i just put the loop on the stake and tighten at the tarp with the prussic, which i can do from under the tarp if need be. hope this makes sense to every one else
It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!
Only hang as high as your willing to fall- H.F. member
Here is my version of the shockcord/prussik guy line attachment.
I use this only for silnylon tarps that are prone to stretch.
I leave out the shockcord on my spinnaker and cuben tarps.

do you guys use this same sort of tarp tensioner for panel pulls? or do you use something different there?
Well I just scored 30' of 3/32" shock cord, so I'm going to be making some tensioners for my tarp and my dogs tarp as well.
I'm thinking of putting my tarp on a diet as well, my wife and I use a Kelty Noah 12 and it's heavy... I'm thinking of cutting off the heavy loops it has for tieouts and replacing them with D-rings.
Same thing for panel pulls, I just made them longer.
IIRC, I used 6' on the corners of the tarp, 4' on the side guy lines and 10' on the pull outs.
I can tie the pull outs to nearby trees or run them around a support stick and then down to the ground as needed.
This is for a humungous 12' x 10' with doors, you could hold a party in my place..
