    Try at a Bridge UQ

I figured I would give a try to a bridge UQ. Fabric is Argon of the Dutch goodness persuasion and filled with some 850 fill down from the wonderfullness that is Wilderness Logics. It weighs in at 11 OZ not including the shock cord suspension. 1.5 inchs of loft with 25 % overstuff. I am thinking it should get me down to 40ish degrees though its so darn light its hard to believe. Its cat cut to use on my DIY bridge with a little " Style" thrown in for fun.

Great looking job on the quilt. I can't wait to see it strung up under the hammock. I've got a friend that needs to talk with you about the process you went through making it.

Gee, wonder who CW is referring to. Lol. How much larger did you make it than your hammock?

Well that definitely took long enough.

    Back to the quilt...

How did you determine the dimensions of the quilt as compared to your bridge body? What are you using to suspend the quilt?

To hang it I put several grosgrain loops along the long sides and sewed channels into the short sides. I will run shock cord through the channel and hook it to the suspension triangle on the bridge. If the center needs a bit if support I will run shock cord through the loops and up over the ridgeline or tarp ridgeline.

To size it I was not confident in my measuring skills. So I did it in a uber scientific way. I put the inner layer spread on the floor and then spread my bridge over it and traced it. Added my seam allowance and pretty much winged it. Jumped on the catsplat UQ super uber calc and dimensioned it out as a rectangular UQ. Ran the baffles as normal and just left the wedge shape in the corners empty. The hardest part was actually the diamonds. I didn't want to just add a second layer so I actually cut out the diamond shape from the base and sewed in a different color diamond. Ugh. Way more work then I thought but I wanted a different look.

CW and I were talking on the phone about if you actually did that for the diamond or not. Kudos! Looks great! Thanks for the info.
