Sometimes during a casual hang, the ridgeline gets in my way. So I'm planning on using an S-biner that hold 10lbs hooked onto one of the ends. Would this work? I don't want my s-biner bending or breaking while hanging.

You need a substantially stronger connector. Hammock ridge lines rated at 500# have been snapped, though thats a pretty extreme case.
Dutch makes a nice mini biner just for this purpose.

If it isn't structural it should work fine . in a structural RL it would snap like thread.
As knotty mentioned, I'd use the Dutch RL biner. As much as you can adjust the RL tension during set up, it's good to have something on there that is strong enough to rely on if you need it like in the case where your trees may be farther apart than is ideal. In those cases you may not be able to get the tree straps high enough on the trees for a 30 degree suspension angle and there would be significanty more force on the RL.

Ok thanks! This helps a ton!

Soft shackle is another great option, not that I don't own multiple pieces of Dutch bling
I made one end of my ridgeline yesterday. Dutch Biner showed up today. Finishing up tomorrow.
