Well I was hoping to make it out with the son to this one, but as it turns out we will be doing a family camping trip with wife and daughter. That means we have to A. be close enough to be able to do a drive home and take care of the dogs(5) and cats(4) and chickens and ducks. B. be close to a potty for my women.

On another note FLrider gaia gps software was on sale in apple store for 9.99 vrs normal 19.99. it allows downloading of maps before the trip so that no service is needed, Worked awesome for me last weekend at croom tract of the withalacoochee. works better than having service and downloading maps as they load much faster.

I will still watch this thread with quiet envy.

    Sorry to hear that, antichip.

Thanks for the heads-up, but I don't use iProducts, for a number of reasons. Gaia may work with Android, though...hrm...lemme think on it...

I want to come but I can't confirm yet. There's something going on with my shoulder/neck/spine that's literally a PAIN. My doc says NO to putting on a backpack or carrying anything heavy till it's healed. So, hopefully that will happen very soon. And if I come, I'll be glad to make some brownies or something to bring along.
I jumped on the back of a butterfly
We took off high into the sky
We flipped, we flew, we turned, we fluttered
    "Enjoying yourself?" the butterfly uttered
"Surely!" I said as we lit on a flower

Butterfly, I'll be in the camp and unloaded by noon Friday so the Sherpa would be available to bring your gear in to the site if you're getting in after that.

Thanks Old Dog. I hope I'll be able to take you up on that offer. Are you bringing any spoons to sell by any chance?

No GPS and don't know how to use anyway! Definitely navigationally challenged! If Swiss Sherpa can make it (he'll be in school until unknown time), I won't be afraid. If not.... Fear of the unknown!!!

I tried to find the FL GPS app for the iPhone/iPad but search revealed nothing.

Will look at my DeLorme and see what other maps I can get from FL Forest Service.

    I'll take:

pre-dinner appetizers (smoked oysters on crackers and ???)
    Bag of large marshmallows
    Sandwich fixings for lunch/es (tuna/salmon/bread/cheese/???)
Contractor trash bags (4 enough?) with roll of twistie tie

I'll be there Friday afternoon. Not sure of time, but maybe I can meet up with someone somewhere.

Yes! That should go down a sandy road. Do you think it will hold the weight of my backpack? ha ha!
