I am 6'1" and about 185.....I definitely find the Explorer a bit more comfortable and easy to 'get flat' than I do with the Exped (my wife's hammock).
But for what it's worth, I find the Blackbird even more comfortable!
I found there was a fairly big comfort difference between the two. In earlier days, I went from the Expedition to the Explorer Deluxe and really liked the extra space.
I've never tried a Blackbird, but they tell me it's nice.

I have both and at 6' I MUCH prefer the Explorer models (yes I have more than one). There will be less of you pressed against the bug-netting and you'll be able to fully extend your legs in the Explorer model.
Since everybody else posting in this thread is doing it....get a Blackbird! You'll be happier.

Got bird?
Trust nobody!
I'm 5'11'' and weighed 185 when I got a HH Hyperlite-the same size as an Expedition. It fits just fine and is as comfortable as anything needs to be. When I crossed the 200# threshold, I ordered a HH Explorer Ultralite. It's very comfortable, too, and is a little more roomy. Then I got a BlackBird, and it's a mighty fine ride. I would purchase any of them again to be my only hammock, but I would not have a HH without adding zips to the bugnet. Also, the double bottom of the BB adds a dimension of versatility that the HH's don't have. Given that the BB comes with double bottom, zippered bugnet, lots of room, and a suspension that needs no changes, I'd have to give it a double thumbs-up.

Get a Warbonnet, Blackbird! USA made! Hennessy Hammock's (China made)are in my opinion Starter Hammock's! For beginners or Newbies! Zipper mod is a must with HH! The more you read on this HF the more you will see that I'm right! Just read!
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
