Unusual but easier way to make UQ ?

Thinking about making an underquilt and I thought this triangle arrangement might be a little easier to sew then the normal rectangular tubes . I notice the baffles in my M1949 down and feather bag are made this way . The distance between the apex of the triangles would be less then the base of the triangles to allow curvature of the quilt . I want to make the quilt the actual hammock as well . I overstuffed my M1949 bag with a down and feather mixture and made an extremely warm but extremely heavy underquilt . So trying to lose about 10 pounds or more .
Sorry about the illustration but you get the idea the apex is sewn to the top of the quilt and the base is sewn to the bottom . This minimizes cold migrateing along the seams .

Should be about 6 inches between apexes and 7.5 inches on the base . This is with a 5 inch altitude ( rough rough guess)

with this arrangement you could use one continuous peace of fabric for the baffles.

This is an extremely common baffle arrangement for sleeping bags. It is somewhat intricate to stitch because you have to work both outside pieces at the same time. But there are no gaps in the fill patterns. Very very warm.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Hmm I guess I didn't think I had to sew the top and bottom simaltanousley .
I have all my material and about ready to start . I thought I was going to sew all the apexes of the triagles to the bottom of the hammock first and then the bottom after I saw how the tubes spread out . The triangular tubes will be made of one continuous piece of polyester with the triangles ironed in .
