Thinking about making an underquilt and I thought this triangle arrangement might be a little easier to sew then the normal rectangular tubes . I notice the baffles in my M1949 down and feather bag are made this way . The distance between the apex of the triangles would be less then the base of the triangles to allow curvature of the quilt . I want to make the quilt the actual hammock as well . I overstuffed my M1949 bag with a down and feather mixture and made an extremely warm but extremely heavy underquilt . So trying to lose about 10 pounds or more .
Sorry about the illustration but you get the idea the apex is sewn to the top of the quilt and the base is sewn to the bottom . This minimizes cold migrateing along the seams .
Should be about 6 inches between apexes and 7.5 inches on the base . This is with a 5 inch altitude ( rough rough guess)
