    Central Florida

My name is Chad, I live in Lake county, Florida. I am 25 and a ISA Certified Arborist. I climb trees for a living and fell in love with hammock camping about a year ago.
We do a lot of camping on the Gulf of Mexico, out on different islands quite a bit.
Some of the islands could be considered overgrown Oyster beds, so tent camping is not the easiest thing to do at times. This, for me, is where the hammock came in.

I use an ENO Double nest, and I used to use a walmart blue tarp (lol). I just ordered a Kelty Noahs 12 that should be here by the weekend for our usual island trip.
Anyways, I have been browsing these forums for a while now and finally decided to join. I have a couple of questions about things and I'm sure I came to the right place to learn!

Welcome to the Forums, from East Florida.

If your trip is not on Feb 21-23, 2014, come on out to your first hammockforums group hang. We will be down in Lake Wales Ridge State Forest area.

It's the Sherpa Hang. There should be many to ask questions and get answers.

*Edit* Oops, barich942 beat me to it. Here's the link to the thread.

I JUST missed the Ocala forest hang. I live only like 20 minutes away from there. Oh well, I might have to look into the Sherpa hang.

Welcome aboard from Lakeland. Plenty of time to make the Sherpa Hang. It would be a great educational experience and an opportunity to share the experience with some of the best hangers. To not hurt any others feeling I should probably retract that statement but... I think I may be right.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

Ditto on the Sherpa hang! Not quite as large as our annual Florida Hangs, but it seems to be growing every year.
