    Hello from Charlotte, NC

I slept in an ENO several nights last year, mostly while canoe camping and loved the rest I get in a hammock and the freedom to sleep anywhere there are trees. You don't even need ground, much less flat grown that a ground dweller needs. I hung from 2 trees in a swamp with no dry ground and tied my canoe to the same 2 trees and slept comfy as could be. Now I am wanting to start backpacking and the gear I've collected over the years is waaaaay to heavy to haul on my back. So, I am starting to collect light weight gear and after reading on here I now see that my Onelink ENO system may be less than ideal. I just bought a pack and trekking poles now I have to decide which under and top quilt to order.

Just holler if you need anything - backpacking, hammocking or any other advice - it's all free.

We have a group hang in Uwharrie coming up the first part of March if you'd like to join us.

Yes welcome, and enjoy the addiction. We have something for everyone here, at least for everyone that enjoys this things.
We have a very relaxed hang in the uwharries like tallpall said. Its a national park with many trees. We talk, eat and make fire. We show off our rigs and discuss what we want to improve on.
This time we are planning a panning expedition. I am going to find a golden nugget the size of a vw and retire.
If you have any questions just ask, not necessarily me thats what we have a forum for.

Welcome from SC. I too recommend a group hang. Stop in to visit even if you don't have the equipment to stay warm yet.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
