Hi BillyBob. You're right, it's not a lot of acclimation time. But we generally manage OK, although I like to carry a few Advil along in case I get a headache the first night. Elevation sickness is certainly nothing to mess with and we keep an eye on each other.
The views from up there are spectacular. From the top of Humphreys Peak on a clear day you can see all the way to the N. Rim of the Grand Canyon on the NW. side, as well as all the way to the White Mtns near the New Mexico border on the SE side. I'll throw up a few pictures from the trip when we get back. Y'all have a great weekend!
Laurel Fork Creek area by chance? BSF is a great area to hike.I have a lot of creek crossings this weekend.
That is a nice hike. Enjoy.
I will be slathered in Deet, trying to not get eaten by Adirondack black flies while hiking the CL-50 http://www.cranberrylake50.org/
Hot Springs for some rafting and hanging!

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
I leave tomorrow for 9 days - 37 miles of class V packrafting.
Followed by 35 miles of rugged and extremely remote trail-less
bushwack hiking, followed by hopefully a final 2 days of Class V rafting.
Farewell hammock peeps.
