After long debate, and much research on the HammockForums.net website, I finally decided on a tarp!
The Kelty Noah's 12.
I am not an ultralight backpacker, and weight doesn't really matter to me. I usually camp on islands out in the Gulf of Mexico. I have a 14 foot john boat with a 16hp Go-Devil motor. The boat hauls all of the weight which means I can splurge on weight a bit.
This weekend we are going to an island right off the coast of the Chassahowitzka bay. The weather is supposed to be nice, contrary to what it has been lately, and I believe this tarp is exactly what I need.
Many TIPs (Tie in Points) means so many options to choose from on how to set it up.
Large enough to keep the salty air and rain off of me, which is exactly what I'm looking for.
The Warbonnet Superfly came in a close second, and I was really wanting something in camo for hunting season, but I didn't want to wait a month to get it, and the Kelty is half the price.
Just my 2 cents. I understand everyone has their own opinion, and my opinion is for the Kelty!
