Any thoughts on Hammock Gear's Standard Cuben Fiber Tarp with doors?

I want a cuben tarp and since they are so light anyway, I figure I might as well go for one with doors.

I found one at Hammock Gear:

    http://www.hammockgear.com/standard-...rp-with-doors/

Has anyone used it? Or does anyone know of any similar tarps by other makers?

I know there's one for sale in the for sale area right now that I really want ......if I hadn't blown all my money on other hammock stuff.

They are so very light that your hand will feel empty when holding one. Translucent if that has appeal. I have used mine on many trips.

I have the HG Winter Palace 12ft w/doors. Weighs in at just over 8 oz. Have been using it for close to 2 years now. Love it. Makes my Silnylon Tarps seem like lead weights.

I used to have the HG Standard, but upgraded to the Winter Palace since it's more of a true 4-season tarp.

I have this tarp, and it is a great piece of gear. I think the same as you about the doors - it is nice to have them when you need them, and the weight penalty is negligible.

Here are the ZPacks tarps mentioned by adkrella. I personally prefer the catenary cut of the HG tarp.

Two things I did when I got mine that you might want to consider:
    1) I had HG make me a set of mesh snakeskins for making storage and deployment easier
    2) I had HG attach line-locs to the lower attachment points instead of D-rings

Edit: apparently HG now has cuben snakeskins as a standard product.

I have the HG tarp you're referring to. It's an impressive piece of gear. The craftsmanship is top notch. I've got it rigged up with Dutch flyz and tarp tensioners for a quick and tight pitch. Oh yeah, the cuben sleeves round out the package nicely. You really can't go wrong. The HG stuff if highly sought after as used gear.

Now I'm trying to figure out if I still need my Warbonnet Superfly. Not a bad problem to have!

I love mine. It has the 11' ridge line. Excellent coverage and practically weightless.
