    Join the party

I have added Ridgeline "Party" Lights to Dutchwaregear.com.

They are great for hangs and finding your hammock in the dark.

A lightweight solution! At half the weight of the ENO ones. Do you have any idea what the run time is? Other than "all night if needed", that is.

Honestly I don't. And batteries vary greatly. But I did leave then on for one evening until 1 am and then the next was literally all night because I forgot to turn them off.

You will notice when you surf to Dutch's link on the lights the weight prominently displayed (56 grams by the way)....you can tell he's a hiker's hiker with serious trail cred and knows what is important to potential buyers!

    Work with AAA?

I had something like this unit before and discovered it worked with both AA and AAA batteries. I only mention for the rare occasion you are out a AA and can cannibalize for a AAA.

These lights are also great for kids! Mark the hammocks at night for a bathroom run we turn them on so we can see our hang spot. They also love to wear them (or drag them on the ground like a light snake). They illuminate just enough light to see by so you (the kids as well) can find their toiletry kits or their stuffed animal or whatever else you need and the amount of light isn't blinding, or enough to totally ruin your now night adjusted vision.

Thanks Dutch, I think we will buy a few extra set's...so we will have one for each set-up with spare's.

Yes. I have a few of these. (well, they look identical as far as I can..not purchased from Dutch. They are really nice and better than ENO Twilights as far as weight, light produced and simplicity.

Yes you can use 3 aaa batteries. You just have to stretch the terminal springs a few millimeters to get it to make a solid connection. After that, they stay in there fine.

I use them for LOTS more than hammock ridgeline lights. I rig them for my little girl's forts and dollhouses, along with a gingerbread mansion that we built at Christmas.

I have never tested the runtime, but it is around 20 hours with the rechargeables that I use. That is for full brightness. They will also last several days at a lower lumino.

Even though I was worried about these breaking prematurely, I have not had any problems with the 3 that I still have or the 5 or so that I gave away.

You can even make a lighted necklace that would make Mr. T jealous!!!
