    WBBB XLC and pad

I am looking at getting a WBBB XLC 1.7DL and want to know what type of pad would work good with it. Can it be used between layers?

A pad works best between the layers...moves around less. As for the type...many folks use reflectix, many use CCF pads, many use inflatables. Most people here prefer using an underquilt.

    I use a 1/16" x 24" x 72" CCF pad for warm weather (lows of 60°F+) and a ¼" x 30" x 72" CCF pad for cooler weather (lows of 35°F - 60°F).

I use a 25 inch wide self inflating pad I picked up years ago at a sportsman warehouse I think. As you read this section I think the challenges with the pad is most pads are more narrow and you get cold on the sides.

I have found the side pad doesn't shift as much in my wbbb, it works for me anyway.
And even if you saw it yourself, you wouldn't believe it

The 1/16" pad weighs 7.13 oz (202g). The ¼" pad weighs 14.84 oz (421g). The blue Wally World CCF pad (½" x 20" x 72") I used during by ground dwelling days that is too dirty & abused to use in my hammock weighs 11.85 oz (336g).

I use an old army ground pad from my days of yore. I also don't put mine in between the layers, for no reason at all. It is wider than most and doesn't move around on me.
My son uses a wally world blue pad.
