    Length for CRL?

I have my Superfly, and got some Zing-It and Dutch Flyz, so I'm ready to put together my ridge line. I have decided to go with a CRL. My question is how long to cut the Zing-It. I'm thinking if I go with about 30 feet, that should give me plenty to span the trees, as well as enough to wrap around. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks.

Really depends on how big the trees in your area are. I usually have enough line with 25 feel of amsteel, but in my back yard I only have two gigantic trees to use. They're only about 15 feet apart, but I'd need something like 35 feet to really rig up a ridgeline successfully.

So, 30 feet is probably fine. If you feel like you might need some more space, you could always make a couple of dogbones from extra line to stash somewhere in your pack.

I havent set mine up yet but I was under the impression that a Rl wasn't recommended for the sf. Possably due to the way the rl is sewn with fabric eliminating the need to seem seal as well.

I think Brandon prefers a non-continuous ridgeline. However, there's no reason you can't have a continuous ridgeline (just don't run it under the tarp since it's a cat cut).

As for length, I started out using 30 ft. and just happened to run into a few situations where that came up short, so I went to 35 ft. I've never had a situation since.

    Length for CRL?

I use 37' for my 11' tarp ridgeline. Since I use 1.2 mm dyneema, there's just no excuse for coming up short.

I don't use a ridgeline with my tarp. I just have Zing-it larks headed on the D-rings at either end with Tarp Flyz at either end. I think the Zing-it is around 10' in Length. Occasionally if a tree is very large for I am hanging from trees that are more than 15 feet apart I will slide the Tarp Flyz out to the tree and tie off there.

I don't know if that would work with the Superfly, but maybe it will.
