Not sure yet, and don't want to commit or sign the sheet till all ducks in a row. I will keep everybody posted. Looks like you have a bunch for that patch of woods.

What type of hike is it from the parking to the site? Wondering about what I can bring with me for food and beverages...

40-45 mins from Fire Tower Parking lot. Easy hike in. Moderate out.
Probably half that, and steeply down hill from the Tower Ridge Road pull-off, to the east of the Fire Tower. Really easy in. Out going up, up, up, up. Really not all that bad. Just take your time, and take it easy. Spur to the west a bit, makes it a little better.
If bringing a lot of stuff, and know you won't have to haul it out, the short cut is the ticket. Both are easy to slack pack out to, and bring heavy consumables and such back to the hang.
riverjoe hauled his travois in and out that way this last fall.
Signature suspended
Hate to do this, but I have to pull out. I had so much fun last Fall and have looked forward to the Spring hang all winter. Unfortunately, some gear I ordered has been slow to arrive. In addition to that, family commitments have taken precedent over a weekend in the woods. I hope to catch some other trips in the next couple of months.
"The last to let you down". Go Navy!
A few of us camped at the new HH SITE last weekend, and we discussed the wood situation in length. I think we will be fine for wood at the meadow after all. We saw plenty of wood less than a couple minutes walk away. How does that sound to everyone? I say let's stay at Crescent Valley.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
Riverjoe does not recomend hauling in a travois any more . Still it's not that bad going back up if you can find that spur . I made a mental note to head down the slope at the big Beech tree with all the initials carved in it .
When you get to the bottom follow the creek bed ( it'll probabely be a creek now tho ) to the West until you come to the fork and there you should see Mules USMC trail markers ( in the Army we used to use bent grass stems to mark the trail)
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
CV II sounds good mule. I think if we have more saws that opens up more possibilities for wood. Then your not just limited to what's on the ground.
