Hello from the hills of Western Mass

I found hammocks on a canoe site then knew this type of site had to be out there and I bought & Read "The Ultimate Hang".

I spent a lot of years hiking the Whites of NH. I completed the NE 4ks and then found canoeing. All that gear I humped around the backcountry AND MORE now fits into my canoe. I eat better and relax in my chair at night and I'm still back in the wilderness.

My stepdaughter's Byer of Maine Moskito Hammock arrived this week, my WBBB 1.7DBL is "In the Mail", along with about $100 worth of extras from Dutchware. I'm working on converting my four each Army Poncho liners into a couple under quilts and adding grommets to a hiking tarp, (I don'd sew, yet)

The learning curve got a little shallower thanks to the information I've found here.

    Thanks for all the input

Welcome. We've been known to do some small western mass hangs around here. Keep an eye out for them...

If a Western Mass hang comes up I would be in. Grew up in that area and know it well.
Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.

There is a western Massachusetts hang spots thread. It's gone a little dormant in the past couple months, but I'm sure it will pick up again once it gets a little warmer and the days get longer. Cosmic Camper and I do a lot of impromptu hangs close by. Feel free to post good spots that you know of.
