Get out of one... whyever would you want to get out? =]
I usually end up scooting down to the center, and over to the side I'm going to get out on, swing my legs over, grab a decent handful of edge, lean forward, and hope I can get my feet near to where I put my shoes...

I had the same issue with my first hammock. It is probably not rated for what your putting in it and is stretching too much. If a hammock is rated for your body weight correctly you just roll out like you roll out of bed.

Yup, height is key. Too low makes it VERY hard to get out of with any degree of grace. Higher is better, you just swing legs over and lean forward and stand up. If you are too low, the walking backwards trick is the go!

In edit, I was supposed to just start there but the only thing I figured out in edit this morning was how to use music instead of Opie and Anthony which at the time would have made it nsfw. But I have at times gotten up to fall down with pins and needles when my "think" took a little too long, like an hour or so.

That isn't good on the lower circulatory system by the way.

But for the new guy, see just a little swing and lean and if your sitting height is right you'll be on your feet for a simple stand up. And I am a portly boy so it doesn't take too much in the situp world to get there.

I start dieting next week with the ole drink a gallon of this stuff and don't eat for 24 hours, up periscope, routine. Hell getting old.

Or if you happen to be hanging around Shug, you simply roll out onto a unicycle juggling an orange, a ti-pot and a can of spam

Put sandals on, throw feet over the side, jump out.
