    Great looking trip all.

Looked warm enough I could have probably joined you
I had a passing thought to meet you at Overmountain - I'm glad I didn't.

How did the new boots work out for everybody?
MM sounded like his are keepers.
How about the pack boots & FIMB's?

TallPaul I wore a 'tennis shoe' sized shoe in the Neos and got a rub/pressure point on the Achilles...did I mention that...a higher boot type shoe inside would have prevented that or some tape on the tendon. Don't know if it is a break period thing or not.
Regardless will be wearing them next weekend...must enjoy the cold/snow while we can, next thing you know spring will have sprung.

Thanks for the great vid. I look forward to these reports, partly just to know you got back safely. Glad you had fun, too. Nice, substantive gear discussions. Hope I can join you next year.

FIMB, you seemed to hint that moderation can be overdone. Walter, I always like your understated comments. Everybody else, I hope to see you on the trail. (Note to self: invite Neutron to all hangs.)

As always, I'm never happier then with the HF family. Just a blessing to have met/hiked/camped/hung with this group.
Gear? Seems like everybody was sporting something new just for this trip. Me, I got to enjoy Insulhammock's The Roan for the first time in the wilds-just a sweet bit of kit/really takes away any and all worries about sleeping in serious winter cold. The Neos Overboots (even though they rubbed a raw spot on my mid Achilles tendon were wonderful (a small piece of tape would have stopped the rub); a bit over 9 miles truly hiked in them and a big thumbs up. The Wiggys cagoule subbed for the one returned to Campmore...just wouldn't consider hiking those balds this time of year without.
SERIOUS help was had by Riven and Hangnout (maybe others?) who carried our backpacks to the Overmountain Shelter while we slackpacked the balds.
Neutron showed up with this gigantic bowl of Italian Sausage Soup which was over the top. Glad he could join us the second night, and sad FTroop had to
    understandably leave.
The only downside of the hang was at Overmountain=seriously crowded, close to 30 there via many groups hitting at the same time...it got loud and one louse had a radio. FIMB set him straight.
Looking forward to 2015 of course! BUT Riven had a idea...a Warmer Higher Hang-on Roan High Knob in July...now that is a warming thought eh?
    ...
Thanks for posting the videos. I hope to have mine up tonight. I loved the open invitation. Thanks for welcoming me on the trip.

I wore my trail runners 95% of the time. When it was really chilly, I wore the overboots overtop of my insulation to cut down on wind.

The temps were moderate, the winds were moderate, that one guy at Overmountain was not on the moderation vibe and yelled, sang, and drank without regards to moderation.
I brought too much gear for the conditions, but would have been prepared for colder/windier conditions.
I have a great respect for the subtle humor that Wisenber has.

I had a great time! I look forward to our next Rendezvous with Destiny. Thanks to FTroop and Hangnout for letting me ride along to sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall on the way back and forth to Nashville.
Neutron...thanks for the stew on night 2!
MedicineMan...thanks for setting this up, the videos, etc.
I really enjoyed everyone's company, the cameraderie, etc. The biggest surprise of the weekend was seeing FIMB walk through the door of the shelter at 10PM the first night in shorts and a tee shirt!! Oh yeah, the guy that was upchucking from the second floor if the OverMountain Shelter was a surprise too, but that's a different story.

Again, a diverse group of hangers that came together for a great time. See you next year!

Neo, I thought you made Neos?

Try google for a local retailer although most bought them online.
