It was fun to get to spend the time with you all. I keep trying to be all artistic like MM and I have t deal with what I have.

FIMB next time I'm hiking with you I'm leaving my vid camera at home, just a superior effort! Your imagination and artistry shown forth greatly in this vid. I loved seeing from another's eye.
It was great comparing what you were hiking in with FirePitGuy's attire!
The only major detractor from the vid was the old very very slow moving man with the ratty looking grey beard!
Also I was remiss in not thanking you for the introduction to the Scotch Egg---wonderful eating there! That other stuff that you had to squeeze out, not bad at all, but def. thickens when cold.
    For the record-
You mentioned 'have at least one of us prepared....' Just let it be known I was wearing a shelter, the cagoule, and if the Neos gaiters are extended then I had complete coverage against wind/moisture; that semi cave we passed would have been nice to in the event. Also in my day pack was a down anorak and down pants to supplement an unintended stay. Thanks to Roche I was also packing about 1000 calories. Of course my neck knife had provisions for direction and fire
The only thing I felt weak in was my poles. I subbed out the bo staffs for the typical lekis and did think more than once if I needed expedient shelter the bo staffs are much better when rigging a lean-to.
    Great time lapses too

Great job FIMB!! And like I told MM, nothing better than a wonderful bunch of people, looking out for each other, in a beautiful place. Well done.

I loved watching the trip from your perspective. The comparison showed two different hiking styles, neither one necessarily wrong. FPG was great to hang out with and Roach was a special kind of humorous. I'm glad he had you taken care of for food.

I forgot what all you had in your pack. I'm glad that we were better prepared than I thought.

    Scotch Eggs

    The "Super Spackle: Recipe:
    ˝ cup unsalted almond butter
    ˝ cup unsalted cashew butter
    6 tablespoons agave syrup
    2 tablespoons almond oil
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    ˝ teaspoon almond extract
    ˝ teaspoon salt

    Instructions

    1. Add all ingredients to the bowl of an electric mixer. Mix on low for 30-60 seconds until well combined. It will be very thick.
    2. Store in a lightweight plastic container with a tight lid.
    3. Mike recommends packaging it in a Platypus container and employing it like a squeeze tube, so he can eat it without using a spoon (that spoon adds extra weight, doncha know!).
    4. It doesn’t need refrigeration. (Think of it like you would peanut butter.)

Thanks. We do take care of our group. Of course, Neutron takes care of us all.

Thanks for the videos MM and FIMB.

Due to a family medical emergency I had to bail an hour before I was to meet FIMB to carpool up to Carvers Gap, sorry to cause you the last minute prob and having to hike up alone in the dark.

There was mention in one of the earlier posts on the planning thread of a guy going across the Highlands with a group leaving Carvers on Sat am the 22nd. They are a MeetUp.com group called Blue Ridge Backpackers I am going to make the trip with them. Anyone want to make another trip and do Fri Feb 21 at RHK.
