We awoke to a bit of snow Saturday morning in Oxford, MS. Nothing extreme or even slick. Just enough to make everything look different and give the neighborhood kids something to play in.
I left the house about 7:30 with plans of heading up on campus to take a few pics and then out to Sardis lake for a short out-n-back to enjoy the white landscapes.
My first stop was The Grove where I snapped this pic of our beloved Walk of Champions. For those unfamiliar, this is where our football team walks through The Grove on gamedays to the cheers of Rebel Nation.

Next stop was Swayze Field. Hard to believe baseball season is a week away.

My last destination before heading to the lake was Rowan Oak. I always imagine Faulkner sitting outside on the porch with a bottle of bourbon.

I finally made it to Sardis Lake around 9:00. I took my usual route from Clear Creek Boat Ramp, headed SE along the beach to a place I call Pine Point. After hanging for about an hour and having a late breakfast, I decided to head back towards my vehicle. Instead of following the shoreline back, I opted to bushwhack along the ridges. It was relatively easy navigating considering all I had to do was keep the lake on my left and walk NW.
