NE>Indian Cave State Park>April 25-27 - Anyone interested?

I'm new to hanging and would love to get together with some experienced hangers to learn some tips and tricks before I head out for two sections on the AT in June and September. Would anyone be interested in having a hang at Indian Cave State Park at the end of April?

I'll be there no matter what. My husband and 6 year old stepson will be with me as well. They'll be in a tent (I know, I know). If you haven't been there, Indian Cave State Park has about 20 miles of trails and is a state treasure. We camped there as a family last June and had one of the best weekends of our lives, despite rain and winds so hard I had to throw a second tarp over the tent so we didn't drown!

Weasel and I attended our first ever 'hang' there a couple of years ago. Depending on dates, I very well might be able to attend, and might even be able to bring Weasel along as well if he doesn't have drill that weekend.

Dudorino may also have some interest, as he lives not that far from there.

Put me down as a maybe!

I'm gonna bump this. I'm still going on that weekend. I'd love to see other people there, too!

I'll be there this weekend. There is a slight chance of rain on Saturday night, but the weather should be perfect otherwise. This will be my first time in my hammock, so I'm pretty excited!

Welp, my first hang taught me that I have no clue what I'm doing. I need to learn how to tie knots better. I think I picked trees that were too far apart, because the ends of my hammock were almost even with my tarp. Or maybe I should have hung the hammock with more sag in it? Maybe I should add a ridgeline? I don't know. At this point, I'm willing to drive to a hang in the midwest so I can get some pointers from someone who knows what they're doing.

The sleep was incredibly good. I was out in 5 minutes, and typically I lie awake for a long time before falling asleep. I stayed warm except for one point in the night where my shoulders came untucked, which was easily remedied.

I'm trying to put together a Kansas City area hang again here in mid-May. If we get folks that wanna come out, and if you're interested, it'll be about 2 hours drive from your area. The core KC group that comes out is a pretty experienced group, and you can't stop them from sharing suggestions/etc...LOL!
