    Def not recommended, the fit is pretty custom and the Safari is both much wider and longer( though RL is only 4" longer than Explorer) and way deeper under the ridge line. But who knows, maybe you can make it work/fit. If you can't, something will probably tear.

    I'm sure HH would tell you NO WAY. They make a #1 for Expeditions/Backpackers and a #2 for Explorer size, but there is more difference in a Safari and Explorer than there is between an Explorer and an Expedition. Don't be faked out by only 4" longer RL with the Safari, the big dif is the sag(how much lower the Safari hangs) under the RL. But who knows in what ways you might be able to tweak it. You are also not supposed to use the HHSS over cover with a zip model. But with a little caution getting in and out of a zip model, I have had no problems.

    Just be super careful when you get in the 1st few times, maybe have someone watching to see if any fabric is being over stressed.
