    Clark Na / Nx200 Questions

HI ALL -Just a few simple questions about the CLARK NA + NX 200 hammocks .
Seeing as all CLARK hammocks are single skined , do you have any trouble with mosquitos bitting through the single skin bottom .
Looking at the pictures of the NORTH AMERICAN and the NX-200 , it looks if you could sit upright inside the hammocks without touching the mosquito netting .
I am 6`1" and 240lbs do you think the standard NORTH AMERICAN would fit me comfortably or go with the larger more expensive NX-200 .
After watching CAVEDIVER`s video on the NX-200 it just looks as if you have far more space inside the hammock canopy below the weather sheild , than its main competitor the WARBONNET BLACKBIRD hammock .
Not getting me wrong the Blackbird looks cool also but not as much room inside ?
Am I right or completly wrong .
Remember I am going by what I see on SHUGS video on YOUTUBE , of the BlackBird hammock .
Another thing is tring to scale the size of the inside capacity of the hammocks , but you dont know the relative size of the owner of the hammock in the photos or videos .
LOOKS wise the NA + NX-200 are the dogs bollocks !!!!!!!
    Thanks .

    Dave ..........

You are right at the edge. I bought two Clark NA's before they started making the NX. My son, who is just shy of 6' fit very well in his and loves it. I'm 6'3" 250 lbs and I felt a bit cramped so I returned mine and got a claytor instead.

I'm very happy with the claytor but might buy a clark NX some day in the future.

I would go with the NX.

My son has never complained of getting bitten through the material. The pockets double it up anyway, and you can use a thin pad for added protection if concerned.

I felt the smaller Clark was too short for me at 6'2". I also went with a Claytor but that was before the NX came out. I do like the features of the Clark although I wish it had a double bottom. I particularly like the weather shield although I've been through some heavy rains in the Claytor and stayed dry.

    HI Guys -
    Thanks for the replys .
So it would have to be the NX-200 just for sheer size .

I'm just under 6ft. and weigh 260 lbs.
I had a NA and now I have the NX.
The NX-200 is more comfortable for me when I want to sleep on my side.

    I also have a Blackbird.

    So to address those issues:

I think the Blackbird has more side-to-side room.
But the NX-200 has more headroom when you're sitting up.

I was in my Clark last week and the Blackbird this weekend.
I love 'em both. I wish I could manage to combine them somehow.

I'm sure that guy Neo will be along to say:

"The Clark is too narrow and hurts my neck. "

my tropical is skeeter proof on the bottom. I had those critters covering the netting while my backside didn't get any bites at all. I did have to be careful not to let my arms touch the netting while sleeping.
Size wise, my husband 6'4" 250ish pounds can fit in my hammock but it's very tight length wise.. He needs the NX 200 model. I'm 5'1" and can sit up inside without any problems, I've got tons of room!!!

MOSQUITOS , you have just got to love them , dont you
They only want to see what you are upto in their backyard .
They can either make a great day out if they dont make an apperance , or make it a nightmare , if they show their little faces

The newer Clarks are advertised as mossi-proof but honestly I have not had much issue with them in my older North American. The pockets provide a pretty good defense on the torso and I usually have something under my legs anyway so I have had no issues with them in mine. I took a trip to the West Rim Trail in Zion N.P. and I was set upon as soon as sunset arrived. I was a little shocked since it is dry as a bone up there but my experience has always been that if you see a few pine trees together there will be a cloud of mosquitoes there. No matter what. It's happened to me every time.
