    UQ Recommendations for the Hennessy

So, I have definitely made the decision to sell off a bunch of my extra gear and purchase an UQ.

I have the Hennessy Expedition A-sym Zip (top entry).

I am looking for an UQ that will fit the asymetrical design of the Hennessy that will be comfortable down to about 40 degrees.

Ideally I would also like the lightest and smallest I can find.

I did watch the video on the Potomic model from KAQ and that seems like a possible option. I wasn't sure about the down vs synthetic though?

I am about 5'5" (short) tall and about 155lbs. I do sleep at an angle in my Hennessy....so it is a must to have a UQ designed for that.

    Thanks for the help!

I have the Jarbidge by Arrowhead Equipment with my HH explorer zip. I guess it would be considered a 3/4 length UQ but I am 6'1" and didn't even use a pad under my feet...stayed warm in the 20s. You being 5'5", it would basically be a full length for you and i believe their 15% off sale goes through today, putting it at $85. Can't beat it for the price!

Also its 20 oz and can potentially pack to about the size of a canteloupe.

    My 2 cents.

    Jarbidge Also

I also use a Jarbidge on an explorer deluxe ziip. I'm only 5'8" so I didn't need a pad either. I do use the triangle thingies. Just ordered my son one yesterday for his Free bird hammock. I think the sale ends today.

Jacks or Better The Nest is made specifically to fit the HH. It does have a bottom opening but you can just put the Velcro together and not use it if you have side zips. The Nest even has tie out loops that match up with your HH tie out lines.

I have used The Nest down to 20F (with single layer of wool long johns, hat, gloves, and down boots) and have been very cozy. Depending on how cold/warm you sleep your results may be different.

The Nest can be compressed down to about the size of a Nagalene bottle if you want to compress it that far.

When considering underquilts, I go to one of two places, Underground Quilts, or Hammock Gear. Both companies' quality cannot be beat, and they keep their prices competitive.

I looked at Arrow Head Jarbridge and like the synthetic.
I could not find the sale notice, does anyone have that link?

My Leigh Lo works fine as does any other UQ I have used. I did sew on loops where the tie outs go and it helps keep the quilt in position but it isn't needed.

Ok. So now I am torn...... need help!

I like the price of the Jarbidge over the Potomac......

I am just worried about getting a UQ that is not specifically designed for the asymetrical HH.

Does anyone know if I will be able to lay at an angle with the Jarbidge?

Also: It looks like the 15% off coupon "herewecome9000" has expired at AHE

I have an Explorer and been into the teens without a UQ designed for the HH..
Never froze yet... You will figure it out. I have never played with the 2 your talking about but HG makes some great stuff. Never seen anyone complain.
