I am going to use some very small diameter rope to make rope ends for my next hammock creation and this morning when I woke up I thought of offsetting the spot where all the ropes connect. See the picture below. I was thinking this would help to make a more comfortable lay in a shorter hammock. Does that make any sense?

The hammock is in the process of being made but I am waiting until I can make all the button holes in the end channel for the nettles to anchor to a 1/8 piece of am steel running through the end channels.

I'm going to be using a small nylon rope (Handy Hundred) to make the rope ends. It is rated to hold a hundred pounds and since I'll have 28 cords on both ends I am assuming it will support my weight. I could buy zing it but the Handy Hundred is only 2 or 3 dollars for a hundred yards. I wouldn't trust the a single length of the Handy Hundred to hold me but 28 seems more than adequate to support me. Only time and testing will tell.
