    Opinions please

I'm on the waiting list for a BlackBird....new hammock deserves a new tarp right?
What do you all think of this one:

    http://www.mountainlaureldesigns.com...e3cca996a1a874

It's the Mountain Laurel Design Hex Hammock in spectralite .6
    weight they claim is 6.4oz
dimensions are close to a McCat Deluxe, 10'7 x 8'

I like Brian's stuff and have two of his tarps; was probably one of the first to support OES-rightfully so.

But I'm thirsting for new blood.

I have several MLD Spectralite (cuben) items and they're all top notch. The MLD Grace solo tarp I have is for ground use, custom sized, and is one of my favorite pieces of gear. Strong, light, with excellent quality and workmanship. I helped in choosing the dimensions for the tarp in question, and for an idea of size it is about halfway between and OES Standard and Deluxe. Ron would probably tweak the size of this tarp if requested.

Spectralite MLD's term for cuben fiber. My diy cuben tarp has held up well but I do have to be careful with it. Cuben seems to slice from limbs etc easier than the other materials. Very easy to repair though (tape)

OK fired off an e-mail to Ron--fingers crossed

I've got a Duo-Mid in cuben and am very impressed with the size/weight ratio....only time will tell about durability-but if I got 150 nights (maybe a few more than that) out of a HH lite racer I feel it won't be my mistreating the gear that causes failure (well not intentional mistreating anyway).
I'll keep updates coming this way.

Well, that weight is impressive but I'll stick with my Macat Deluxe in SpinnUL. The tarp, stuff sack, 8ft of lash-it per stake tie, 20ft of 7/64'ths Amsteel for tree ties with figure nines,a four groundhogs in one of Brian's stake bags all weighs under 15 oz. That is the weigh that matters, IE, all of it.

Wow, that's a lot of tarp for 8.5oz. Do you mind if I ask how much Ron charged you for it?
