    First real wilderness hang!

After receiving my new tarp I decided to try outdoor hang because relatively warm night had been in forecast and possible rain. In the late evening cycled out of capital city of Latvia Riga to near the Jurmala, ~15 kilometers from my home.
Bought in local outdoorshop High Peak stakes similar to MSR Groundhogs, Didn't find 25mm straps, gone with 20 mm ones, first setting up my tarp= success
Let's set up the my old hammock itself with those straps and tied hammock loops with two half hitches, let's climb in the hammock...THUD! Holy crap, those straps are slippery. Tying second try with threee half hitches, probably succes! Slept great and without the dreaded CBS with only the sleeping bag.
Voke one time in the night, wow, what a warm night for Latvia tonight. Temperature not fallen below 15 degrees celsius! Did find myself in the morning that my butt dragging on the ground, crap, they gave me strechy straps.
Tarp itself stayed nice and taut!
This small trip gone relatively succesful, only need to remake suspension for hammock itself.
Had been alone in the woods and wow, what a nice morning!
Next thing I know I will buy, this must be bugnet because from time to time those long nosed insect decided to eat me for the breakfest.

stretchy straps, must be made of nylon. Good report, that looks like a really nice area.

Not a bad first hang - if nothing else memorable! and now you have something to work from for your next hang!

As for feeling itself, not to mention had relatively short night, I catched some nice snooze and that night turned out very warm for may in Latvia and no those CBS at all.
Only need hammock with bugnet and better suspension.
Also need to work about and experiment a little bit how to stake out those guylines but on the tree I made those fancy "V" style rigging to trees and seen what knot for tensioning, and illustration from Dejoha site made me rigging the tarp without any hardware a blast! Thanks Dejoha
At tarp rigging I got succesful but some credit also goes to Brian for making that style of tarps. This tarp can be rigged taut from any newbie I think.
But also got lucky to find nice clean spot with pine trees not so far from Riga.

The tarp looks staked out very nicely. A good tight pitch!

These clip on aero bars are econonomic and relatively cheap made by Force components from Checz republic. These are for training. I also have dedicated time trial machine with dedicated integrated with stem aero bars. In this new tarp batch of tarps seem to be little different material from those photos if tarps at OES site but feels really nice!
    Kudos to Brian!

No bottom insulation at all? You're a brave man.

My first hang was in late June, and I used a US Army modular sleep system, supposedly good for -40 degrees. The temperature went down to around 5 degrees at night. Never been so thoroughly cold in my entire life. It took an hour after waking up before I was human again. I did sleep the whole night without noticing, though.

So, after you get the bug net, look into bottom insulation.

Beautiful! Sounds like a perfect first hang... Definitely find yourself a wide and lightweight pad! If it got down below 10 degrees at night, you probably would have had a bad case of CBS...
