Has anyone used larger snakeskins to slide over both the hammock and under quilt at the same time? I have a 40 degree uq. Or is it easier to separate then pack them separately?

Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!
I prefer a compression sack. Keep everything but the tarp and tree straps in it.
Hammock is fully set up. Head end is at the top of the sack. Just set up the straps, hook the head on and walk backwards to the anchor strap. About 2 minutes to set up.

I honestly prefer everything in a stuff sack or compression sack as well. This just allows more room in the backpack and keeps everything smaller.
I have a cuben bishop sack from Luke's ultralite, I can get my Darien and 40 degree Phoenix in it no problem. It's very quick and handy.
I suspect a lot depends on moisture management. If you are in a dry climate stuffing it all together has an attraction. If you are dealing with rain or heavy dew you are packing you wet outer layers with your dry inner layers. The moisture will tend to equalize making everything equally wet. Your tarp and hammock bottom may be drier when you unpack but the moisture ended up in your quilts. Not so good.
YMMV
