    A question about Dutch-clips?

I want a pair of these, but I have noticed there are two different designs. One appears to keep the strap flat as it passes thru the clip. The other design is more curved through the eyelet so that the strap is curved or maybe I should say curled as it passes through. Is one preferred over the other?

I own dutch clips and I don't think you can go wrong with either, your preference.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

The first design was straight and made out of aluminum. They are sold exclusively by Jacks R Better. When I started making them out of Titanium I need to make them more compact as titanium is very expensive. There was an added benefit that if your strap is a little short, it will work with the whoopie sling or rope going through the Dutch Clip. The curved titanium ones are much lighter and stronger than the straight aluminum ones.

Resurrecting a slightly out of date post, but Dutch, does this mean you do still make the aluminum ones, they are just sold by Jacksrbetter? I have a set of both, but prefer the old style because some of my tree straps(cough cough...your new webbing ) are a little stiff and isn't the easiest to thread through the titanium ones.
