    Newbie- North East OH

Hello all! I am a graduate student at the University of Toledo. I am new to hammocking and I any about to purchase my first hammock. I friend of mine has an eno doublenest and let me try it out last fall. Since then I have been looking forward to the winter being over so i can get out and start hanging. Like I said, I am new to all of this so any tips or advice anyone has for me would be much appreciated! Also, keep in mind that I am a student which means I am working with a very small budget... looking forward to participating in the forum and hearing from all of you!

Dang! I'm from NE OH, which is why I clicked on your post. :-) Though I'm in SW OH (Cincinnati) now anyway, so I suppose it doesn't matter. At any rate, welcome to the forums! Fantastic amount of info here; you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know (and more!) very quickly. And be sure to check out the cottage vendors for some quality gear at reasonable prices. I'm still using my first ENO hammock, but if I had known then all I know now, I probably would have gone with something different. Anyway, enjoy! Hanging weather will be back before we know it!

Welcome from North East Ohio (for real). I have a byer traveler hammock that I got at DSG for under $20. Whoopie slings and straps are about as cheap and lightweight a suspension setup as you can get.
Don't forget a tarp and some top and bottom insulation.

    happy hanging!
I'd quote a certain book, but that is not allowed.
