Hello from Quebec

Hi everyone,

My name is Dan and i'm new to hammock camping. I've been tent camping for years and I'm finally ready to convert. The main reason I decided to switch was my decision to do many more hiking trips this summer. In the past canoe camping was my bread and butter and I still plan on doing more but with my new hammock this time.

I haven't bought my set up yet but i have a fairly good idea of what I want to get. although after looking around these forums i may try to make a DIY tarp or bug net to save some money.

I'm also debating between a single or double, but i found a dealer in my city that has them set up so you can try them out!

You may want to keep an eye out for the next EGL canoeing hang this spring. It's a great way to get out in the bush, meet some fellow and have an excuse to bbq.

thanks everyone for the welcoming posts! and I grew up right next to westmount park! the back of the house was located at the tennis courts near the library! small world
