That is pretty darned "great"!! I'm particularly drawn to the modifications on design that you've been making. It's a thing of beauty, that!!

i had an idea pop into my head, what if there was a lower spreader bar on the same plane as where you lay in addition to the regular spreader bar. then you can connect in the middle of both sets of spreader bars with the suspension to aid stability.

    just a thought

Thanks all of you for the comments. I hadn't noticed that this thread had been revived.

Update: The (IX) insulation and everything to do with pad sleeves have been removed. Adjustments were made to the head end two suspension points. The attempt is to get more lift in the head end center divider rope without having to crank up as much tension. This is one of the biggest challenges to get right- in a convenient and repeatable way. Perhaps crow was anticipating this dilemma when offering the lower spreader pole idea. The head end suspension is is ready for additional testing, but I know it is still lacking somehow.

I have bought two sets of Madera legs, this should help me with testing the double hammock in car camping situations.

Mine too. She thinks I'm nuts for enjoying the hammock for camping. Silly tent dweller.
