    What do women want?

    ....in a hammock/tarp color?

Seriously, I wanted to start a thread and get some suggestions for colors that females would like to see in hammock/tarp fabrics outside of earthtones. Not to say that a guy can't like these as well, but I'm just looking for a woman's perspective. Guys feel free to ask the wife/gf/kids. I'll get us started with a few that I've been asked about...

My daughters favorite colors (and their initial DIY hammocks are already made) are orange ( the brighter the better), green (pretty much any shade), purple, and finally pink. My wife's favorite is also green, just not day-glo.

This spring I plan on attempting more DIY hammocks with integrated netting.

I go with earth tones personally...I like to blend when I am in the woods, so nothing too bright...all of my hammocks are either forest green, grey or dark blue. I do have a bright blue spinnaker cloth hammock but I don't take that one out yet...still need to get the suspension system worked out.

I am rather burnt out on the assorted shades of green and brown. I am interested in maybe the Arctic-camo, or something along those lines. I have made white tarps, I made a yellow top quilt that was supposed to be gold tone, but it is a cheery YELLOW, to beat the Oregon grey sky.

Lime Green sounds a bit interesting. Hot pink for little girls and big girls that like to have fun with color. I have been buying Turquoise clothing lately. Maybe it is just the need for some other color than Green and Brown. I just bought a all weather jacket is a nice Turquoise, I just love it, it chases away the grey sky, makes my heart happy.

Recently I needed to entertain two kids a 13 year old girl and a 9 year old boy. We made hammocks and tarps, the girl went with Red and Pink the boy with with Orange, Brown. and black.

I really like Red, Fire Engine Red, Bright Cherry Red, for a hammock fine or garments, probably not a tarp.

I like earth tones also, and like to blend in when hiking. When car camping and at group hangs I like to use some color. I have a DL hammock in burgundy and champagne color which I call "My Champagne & Wine Hammock". I love it.

I am having another one made that is navy and silver, those colors looks so nice together.

Great question! My wife and 2 daughters love hammocks for lounging (not hardcore primitive camping like me) their favorite colors are pink & hot pink, soft pink, mauve, Tiffany blue, burgundy and patterns like chevron. I had no clue but chevron or repeating "V,W" B&W pattern is really in with all the "cool" & "popular" teenagers right now. Yesterday's fad in 2 yrs so don't knock yourself out trying to find it in ripstop. Had a more in depth discussions with teenage daughters on drive to Drill Team practice just now so came back and added T-blue and burgundy.

Be careful what you start here! If you hit this popular teen market right all the rich little teen girls will be paying seamstress ladies all over suburbia to make them custom hammocks and every city park will be full of them handing out in trendy custom hammocks with colors and patterns that YOU started, with dozens of copy cats. The responsibility is all yours, i wash my hands of it. LOL, only joking. Carry on.

Cool online business u have, i like it!
