Known fact: People on average spend more on their pets than on their human children.

My children are now adults, so I guess my spending on my critters does not count. Plus my dogs enable me to live my life fully. That being said, my dog has her own love seat in the living room, no one else sits on it, K9 use only. The reason the dog has her own couch, to keep her off the human couch.

I recently made both dogs beds out of a TempurPedic mattress topper. Glued the pieces of the topper together to give the pad some thickness. Now the large dog sleeps in a toddlers bed with the memory foam mattress.

When we are Hanging, my large K9 sleeps in a hammock (sling) right under my hammock, the dog is a Medical Alert Dog and has decided we should not be separate at night, no more car camping for her.

Personally I think it is a sad state of affairs that people care more for their companion animals than for their own biological children. I guess our pests love us no matter what type of human we are, not so with our children.???

How could a person spend $60 on a 5 foot piece of rope knowing that there are other people in this world dying of starvation? This makes me reconsider my own spending habits.
