Have been a member of the forum for well over a year, but have never posted before yesterday. Have hiked long distances with a hammock, but recently I was tempted, can I say it, to return to the ground. I confess I even bought a ultralight tent. I know, blasphemy, but I went further...I actually hiked with just a tarp. I was lucky not to have been struck blind, but a few nights of discomfort have brought me back to the light. I just ordered and received a WB Ridgerunner and just tonight I converted a set of hiking poles to use with it. To atone for my misdeeds I have slept this week in my Clark Jungle hammock (temperature 19 degrees) and I plan to hang tomorrow night. I am doing my best to repent, and so I have taken a vow of no tent trekking this year.
