I have both and find the one's Dutch sells to be quite a bit easier to adjust. Regarding them slipping....I have found that if you make sure the strap and the bar mechanism are properly seated and give it a little tug, I have never had one slip. If you are careless and and the strap is kinked or the bar is not seated properly, you could end up on your keester. It just takes a teeny bit of diligence. Even if I felt I did have to throw in a half hitch, I'd still prefer the Dutch type. They are that much less hassle for me.

I have put the Dutch version on each of my daughters' and my wife's hammock. Nothing is easier to adjust. I have the Warbonnet version on my own hammocks. Just as easy to tighten, a bit more work to loosen. The weight penalty is hugely negated by the ease in adjustability.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thanks for all the great info on your experiences. Definitely gives me some things to think about. Agreed that a Ti cinch from Dutch would be great stuff!

I've used whoopies and descender rings and keep going back to cinch buckles. I get mine from Readystrap:

MilSpec and, IIRC, have same DJ 101 markings on them that Dutch has, but are priced at $4.50 a pair. Shipping has always been scary fast.
