    diy hammock sock help

so i have 30 yards of 1.1 that i want to turn into hammock socks(most of it anyway) heres my question, whats the best way to finish the ends? thould i just use a drawstring at each end leaving the fabric a full width rectangle, or taper the ends the 10'' and then add a grossgrain channel and drawcord. what are the strenghs and weaknesses of each one for those who have tried them?.they will have fronkey style shock cord closures if that helps. thanks!

build it like fronkeys bugnet. no zippers to deal with. shock cord on the bottom to snug below. im thinking for just a simple sock it should at most only take 8 yards.

I'm designing a DIY sock too - https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=88906 I look forward to seeing yours progress.

I think I will cut triangles out of the flat rectangle of material so it can be seen into the shape of a gathered end hammock but without the excess flap and weight of material. Mine will have a zip so that I can see the world, cook etc but I do like the simplicity of a shock cord entry from below

I found the Fronkey style to be the easiest for entry/exit. The draw cord closure can be reached from your laying position in the hammock.
The end draw cord type is a PIA to open/close reaching over your head and behind you, at least for me anyway. YMMV
