On Friday night 4 of us did an overnight at site 11 in the park. The mercury read -20C overnight. On the trip were jimmay, who I met through the forums and also 2 soon-to-be hangers Tom and Steve who love to winter camp.
Although Jim loves to hammock, he also loves hot tenting in the winter. This turned out to be a new (and quite comfortable) experience for the rest of us as we moved the campfire and cooking and general lollygagging indoors where it was balmy.
My pulk with hammock, pad, pod, quilts all bundled up and ready to hang.

Roughing it.
It's so nice to have a warm oasis out of the elements and we all enjoyed a hearty dinner and some mind lubricant for dessert before Steve and I retired to our cold camping beds for the night.

This is my 4th outing this winter and although you mn folks often go quite cold, this is the first time for me below 0F and I was quite comfortable. We're looking forward to getting out again in March. Now.. To find a canvas hot tent I can hang inside....
