I have tried a pod system for winter hanging in the past and just never had enough room.
So I decided to make a bag extender big enough to fix that

Nice craftsmanship!
Ooohh! The TZ Laboratory!!! Nice.
That'll be a warm system Tom. I was getting sweaty just watchin'.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Well done, could you also explain the "draw string" modification to the bottom of the bag? It appears as though it is similar to a stuff sack closing.
Thanks.

It was my virgin baffle sewing, and down stuffing, lots of fun.
And most amazing very little down lost, only about 10 clusters.
Thanks, baffles are real straight, some of the edge work could be better
There has been some weird science going on here.
Cold in the basement but not cold enough for that

Thanks Red, it was fun
The original pod was done a couple of years ago. It is just an 8 inch slot cut in the center of the footbox.
The nylon part is the same as a stuff sack top edge except it has heavy shock cord as the draw cord.
A bit hard to get the stitching done through the stuff sack and all around the slot, a free arm machine helps a lot.
That was a synthetic bag so no issue just cutting the slot, with a down bag stitch the hole first then cut open.
Ingenious way to fill the gap!

Nice work. I might have to try me a pod sometime.
