1.1 ripstop should do great! if you plan on using it between hammock and uq as a VB then silnylon
Vb or no vb I guess is the question
Unless you're looking to use a vapor barrier as part of your deep cold insulation system, avoid the use of non-permeable fabrics in your UQP or make sure that you include a venting system. And I would definitely read up on the use of VBs before committing to using one. It's the sort of thing that can go very wrong if you're not sure of what you're doing.
Otherwise, you'll want your UQP to be breathable, but wind- and water-resistant. To me, that suggests a DWR-treated nylon, possibly calendared to reduce airflow.
Hope it helps!

A vapor barrier should be next to skin - NOT on the outside of your insulation. Use a breathable fabric with a durable water resistant (DWR) coating.

I totally agree with FLRider and Mad777. For mine I used DWR nylon non calendered for the ability to use in the real cold weather. I made two; one in 1oz and another in 1.7oz. I didn't notice much of a difference but the lighter one suffered from the wind more, not sure if that would affect the UQ heat retention as i've been camping in wildly different areas so comparisons are difficult.
Thanks guys seen someone using sil and didn't think that was the way to go
Duro Epsilon is an excellent choice that provides wind proof, water resistant, and breathability---that weighs in a 1.5 ounce/yard.
It comes at a price though: $11.34 a yard, with a 5 yard minimum purchase.
My m50 uqp is awesome and feather light. I have had no condensation issues which others had warned me about. I guess my skin just doesn't leak that much.
Directionally challenged...comicly so.
Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
