Trip Planning Mountains to Sea trail

I have been playing around with doing a solo section hike of the Mountains to Sea trail in NC. I would like to start in Linville Gorge possibly at Table Rock and hike from there into Blowing rock where i will leave my car. I haven't put much time into this trip plan yet and don't know if I am going to make it but was wondering if anyone had done this section before?

I have glanced at the MTS book but it doesn't seem to be all that clear and the trail looks to follow the parkway for a time. I am familiar with several parts of the MTS along the route but again was just wondering if anyone had any better insight. Thanks for the help all.

I have not been able to find a great deal of info on the MTS, but it seems they are primarily just overlapping existing trails. I hiked a trail, here in the eastern part of the state (Neusiok Trail), which turns out to be part of the MTS, as well. I will be glad when they get the final route settled, so I can put some serious energy into section hiking the whole thing.

I hiked the MST from table rock to Grandfather mountain a couple of years ago, I recommend it!
Relax, monsters under the hammock are easily distracted by twister-playing squirrels.

Well we were out there five days but we were in no hurry, I was out there to have fun and just take my time, a strong hiker could do it much quicker, we only covered about 7 miles a day most days.
