    Talking Jumped off the ledge....

Jumped off the ledge and bought a WWBB, Double Layer 1.7, the Superfly, and a 3 season XL Mamba. Though this is my first post here, I have been reading for some time, doing research and mostly lurking here, I just want to say I appreciate your help in choosing a product. I have never spent that much money in my life without having seen and checked out a product so this is nerve racking.

Now if I can only wait for delivery without nervously chewing my fingernails... I am more impatient than a 5 year old...

Not to worry, his stuff is awesome.

Nobody told you? Every one of us on the forum turns into a 5 year old when it comes to waiting for gear to arrive. You've come to the right place. I crashed my car into a fire hydrant and reversed up and over a snowbank just checking USPS tracking for Dutch's stuff the other day! OK kidding...no accidents and using a cell phone while driving is illegal.

Haven't decided on UQ or pad. Im low on bones after the initial expenditure at the moment so Im gonna think on it a while before I decide. I am open to suggestions but I do want to pack this stuff so it has to be light. Might just be a 30x72 CCF pad... don't yet know.

ROFL... the porch is the first place I look when I enter my neighborhood looking for UPS/FEDEX drops... it's my nature.

I am in the same shape after getting a WBBB 1.7 DL , Mamajamba tarp, and a UGQ top quilt in the last couple of months.

On my first hang I used my Big Agnus Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad (partially deflated) along with a windshield visor. That was not enough at 35 degrees but I think I would have been fine in the high 40's or above. You could try a cheap Wally World sleeping pad or even a windshield visor (or both for that matter).

Depending on the temps you are encountering that MAY be enough.

Still haven't decided on an UQ for the WBBB DLXLC 1.7. Anyone have any recommendations? I don't sew nor know anyone that does or I would attempt to make one, however, since Im a nOOb, I don't even know what's avail. Looking for 0* for now and maybe this summer move to a 40*ish one. I am so new at this, I haven't even gotten my hammock yet but I do know I need a UQ.

    Thanks!

I finally decided to order the Hammock Gear Incubator 20* the +2 oz of down. Thanks for all the help and advice from the group here in HF.

I have a Hammock Gear Incubator 20F with no overstuff and I'm pleased as can be with it. I'm sure you have read up on these underquilts, but the fit to your hammock is really critical. So be sure to play around with the fit until you get something that doesn't leak air when you climb in. Not too loose or too tight. I think you are going to like it
