    New guy from Idaho

Well, another new guy to the forum---from Carey, Idaho.
Man, it seems like there is a forum for everything now----but I'm glad I found one on hammocks.
So, the other day, we got to talking at work and one of my buddies SWEARS by hammocks. We are all backcountry hunters and hunt in the high country for mule deer and elk. I've done the ultralight tent and tarp thing but man, the hammocks look like they might work for me. So, I just got here and I'm going to go and get busy researching..................
Looking forward to all the input. Thanks ahead of time.

    Randy

    Hey Randy,

Welcome from a couple hours West. You are in the right place for hammocks. There are a few Idaho hammock events this year. We have started planning the Spring Meat and Greet for this year and I am also hosting the 5th annual Idaho Hammock Hang in the Sawtooths in early September. If you can join your more than welcome.

    Welcome from NC!

PGibson is right (and a great vendor too!). try to attend as many group hang events as soon as possible and you will not only learn more -faster; but also make some good friends.

Welcome. The best place I have ever hung is in the wind rivers. That's in your neighborhood and I highly recommend it if you haven't done it before.
