I received my new custom uq from Oxgear this week. I wanted a full length quilt with some extra width due to being larger than the average bear. It's 78" X 48" so I have more shoulder width. Most uq's seem to be 42 to 44 inches wide so the extra baffle, there's 9, made the difference. It's stuffed with almost 15 ozs of fluffy 850 goose down goodness into 2.5 inch baffles that should work well into the teens. My KAQ New River UQ has 3 sets of loops to help support the weight and sag of a full length quilt and I had Sean add them to the Rabun as well. My back was really bad last week so I couldn't hang but I opened up the quilt and used it on the bed for a few nights and was almost too warm. I finally got a chance to try it on the hammock last night and was really impressed. The New River is warm but the Rabun and it's downy heat radiating back on the body was great. I can't wait to get back out in it tonight. I think I feel a nap coming on. The good news is the Rabun is a great UQ and I look forward to many years of warm and toasty nights to come. The bad news is that Sean is at work in Houston for the next 2 months so Oxgear is closed until May but he is answering all replies and orders through the web site.
The new suspension system keeps the Rabun snug to the hammock.
Looking forward to many warm and toasty nights.
