Have you ever hung a hammock in a hotel room?

I travel. A lot. So it occurred to me I'm excited to get my WarBonnet Blackbird in the coming weeks... except I probably won't be here when it arrives... lol

Which made me think of staying in hotels... and pitching hammocks at hotels. I can think of valid reasons why this just isn't practical, but I'm willing to bet some have done so...

Am I right? Bonus points for photos...

On a recent trip I checked each hotel we stayed at and did not see any way to hang a hammock in the room

I've been in rooms where you could probably hang it between the bathroom door and the suite door if there is an access to the next room. Though I'm not sure I'd trust the doors.

Yeap, this was the reasoning behind the Turtlelady stand. I have also done so with my Turtledog #1.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

You can probably trust the doors on most, hotel chains in particular will use massively overbuilt commercial grade stuff because they never want to replace them. Look at the hinges in Syb's pic, those are exterior door sized for hanging steel doors. Spacing will be the issue.

You don't have to sleep in it to use it...

+1. If traveling by car, there is never any reason to sleep in another Hotel/motel room bed. (this is where the Turtlelady stand comes in) Unless the better half (if you have one) is with you!

All the time. I've traveled with turtle dog and I've traveled with a standard 13' steel hammock stand that broke down into 4-5 ' sections.

A bit of furniture rearranging and there you go!
