In theory, there's no difference between theory and reality.
In reality, there is.
I love my updated WBBB. So comfy I even use it indoors!
I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it.
I like my Hennessy bottom entry best. That said I have made and played with a variety of gathered end hammocks. I highly recommend newbies start with a DIY lashed end and play with suspensions and SRL's. After one gets a bit of time in a setup like that then look at spending serious money for something done nicer. That creates a much more educated consumer. It also lets one understand what the different setups one finds at a hang have to offer.
YMMV

We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869
This spreadsheet is a great idea. It will help a lot of folks just getting started.
I have a couple gathered end hammocks, but my prefered hammock as of now is the Darien by Dream Hammock.
I have two ENOS, WB Traveler and a BIAS WW. They are all comfortable.
