So looking at the map would one be able to beach their boat on that sandy area? Is there a dock for the state park? Thinking of taking the boat up the river from charleston. Just got a new boat and this seems like it would be a fun trip.
I believe there is a ramp right next to where we are camping. Wondering if there is somewhere to tie the boat up to though.
How big of a boat? Could beach it and tie to a tree.

I think you should be able to tie it up there. Just have a long rope.

OC, i would check with the park first about the tying up. There IS a boat ramp right next to the campsite, but bring a bike if you plan on tying out on the dock (its a ride). The shore really isnt all that suitable for beaching IIRC (theres a large rock ledge, and a steep drop someplace out there) also, as Baja knows, theres many hidden stumps right below the surface. almost murdered her jetski.
Hotlips, green/purple is almost the same area, and closest to the water so anywhere around there. Theres plenty of room in the sandy area for cook kits.

Ok, I'm sure you'll be there to tell me where to set up. We'll be there on Friday. Plan to cook Friday night. I'm sure I can find plenty of minions to help me get the kitchen set up when I arrive.

I would not take your boat unless you know the lake and the channel. That place is full of stumps just below the surface. I put my jetski in and went across and turned around and took it back out. I bumped a stump at a very slow speed, and I than God I did not hit any when I went flying across. I saw the stumps and immediately slowed down to a crawl to get out of there. I did not know the channel and did not want to take a chance of ruining my jetski. I will stick with a kayak or canoe on that lake.
