    Tarp Recommendation

I need a new tarp. I've been using the Hennessy Hex tarp and have no complaints. It has served me well and is in great shape. I'm just giving it to my 12 year old to use with his new Dream Hammock.
I've been looking at the Tad Pole and the Warbonnet Mamajamba. Both have great reviews and both companies have great reputations. Does it just come down to personal preference?
I'm going to order an 11' hammock in the future. If I go with the Tadpole, is the 12' ridgeline the tarp to get?

12' tarp for an 11' hammock is great! I'm rubbish when it comes to imperial measurements but 11' hammock with 83% sag comes to 9.13'. So almost a foot and a half at each end extra. I've read it here when I was tarp hunting 11' tarp for 11' hammock is minimum for bad weather. So anymore and it'll just be better not lighter though.

Don't count out the Superfly. You'll only hear great things.

I love my tadpoles. Just keep in mind that if you get the longer ridgeline on the tarp it will raise it up off of the hammock a bit more. Either way is fine, but I haven't had any problems staying dry with an 11' rl over an 11' hammock.

The superfly is awesome as well.

There are Many great tarps to choose from. I run with a 12' Winter Dream from underground quilts. They produce great products and provide outstanding customer service. I also highly recommend adding on the pole mod for added flexibility.

I have an Edge and a Superfly. Definitely look at the Superfly. Those integrated doors give you a ton of setup options for not much more weight. And you can just tie them out of the way when you don't need them.

I 2nd the UGQ WinterDream 12. Have two of them myself and they are awesome. Paul and Missy are great and easy to work with. The Tarp comes stock with all the panel pull Drings and guy-out Drings installed. The doors close with snaps, very functional with very little weight penalty. Plus makes it easy to leave a particular section open for whatever reason. Also comes with the grommets sewn into the corner guy-outs for two pole bracing. All in all, a great tarp for an even better price.

I am in no way associated with UGQ. Just use and love the products they make.
Leave me alone, I'm only talking to my dog today.

    Appreciate It

Thanks to all for the input. I guess that's a nice problem to have: a lot of choices from many quality vendors.
In my consideration of the Tadpole, I was leaning towards the 12' ridgeline, but based on the feedback recommending the Superfly I guess an 11' Tadpole would be good as well.

Buy both, try them out and see what you like. Once you decide, sell me the other for a 50% disconnect! They are both great tarps!

Yes...if you have the $$$ consider a cuben tarp from Hammock Gear. It will lighten your load and your wallet
